The Committee of Seventy will host a brown-bag lunch discussion on the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. from noon to 1:15 p.m., on Wednesday, April 4, the 50th anniversary of his assassination in Memphis, Tenn.
This event will be held in conjunction with NewCORE (New Conversation on Race and Ethnicity), an interfaith group that is sponsoring a set of such conversations around the Philadelphia region to commemorate this anniversary. Bring a brown-bag lunch; beverages and dessert will be provided. The dialogue will be facilitated by Chris Satullo, Seventy's civic engagement consultant. It will be based on a set of quotations from Dr. King that will be shared with participants ahead of time.
