Women in Public Leadership

By Committee of Seventy (other events)

Thursday, May 26 2022 12:00 PM 2:00 PM EDT

ABOUT ABOUT

Join the Committee of Seventy in an event celebrating the contributions and impact women have had through public service in Philadelphia & Pennsylvania.

The event will feature a moderated conversation between Rep. Joanna McClinton, the first woman and African American to serve as the House Democratic Leader, and Rep. Martina White, the first woman to Chair the Philadelphia GOP. These remarkable women from both sides of the aisle will discuss what it takes to run for office and win as a woman in PA, what barriers prevent women from running, how they reached their powerful positions and more.

We will also honor Judee von Seldeneck, longtime C70 Board Member, and remarkable civic and business leader, with the inaugural Civic Leadership Award.

The event is an opportunity to connect with leaders across the private, public and nonprofit sectors, and also create opportunities for emerging women leaders.
