Please join the Committee of Seventy for our Third Annual Women in Public Leadership Event. The event features women leading at all levels and the opportunities and challenges they face. Marty Moss-Coane, Host, Executive Producer of WHYY-FM’s The Connection will moderate the discussion between Paige G. Cognetti, Mayor of Scranton, PA; Rev. Bonnie Camarda, Director of Partnerships, The Salvation Army; Katherine Gilmore Richardson, Philadelphia City Council Majority Leader; and Leslie S. Richards, CEO and General Manager, SEPTA. The discussion will focus on the challenges and opportunities women face when leading in the non-profit, public, and private sectors. We will highlight the importance of women taking on leadership roles at all levels and how organizations benefit from women at the helm.
C70 will also honor renowned civic leader, Leslie Anne Miller, a trailblazer who was the first woman to be named partner in her law firm, to be elected president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and to serve as general counsel of the Commonwealth under Governor Ed Rendell. She was the first chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession and is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Women, the Forum of Executive Women, and the Pennsylvania Women’s Forum. With the Civic Leadership Award we recognize her significant contributions to C70, Philadelphia, and Pennsylvania.
The event is an opportunity to connect with leaders across the private, public and non-profit sectors, and create opportunities for emerging women leaders.
