Join us for Behind the Ballot Fireside Chat: PA Supreme Court Retention Elections, a nonpartisan public forum designed to help Pennsylvanians better understand the upcoming judicial retention elections. Presented by the Committee of Seventy and Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts, this free, in-person event will take place at Central High School in Philadelphia and will also be livestreamed statewide.
The evening features a fireside chat with the three sitting justices of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court who appear on the November 2025 ballot. Attendees will hear directly from the justices about their roles, experiences, and perspectives—offering a rare window into the work of the state’s highest court.

A brief overview of Pennsylvania’s judicial retention process and the standards that guide judicial conduct, delivered by a nonpartisan speaker.
5:15 – 6:00 PM | Fireside Chat with the Justices
A moderated conversation with Supreme Court Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht, focused on their experiences, responsibilities, and reflections on public service.
6:00 – 6:30 PM | Audience Q&A
